Prosperity, South Carolina, our name says it
all. Located in the
central part of the state just west of Columbia. Originally, named Frog
Level in 1830 and later changed to Prosperity in
1873.
When in Prosperity, you are only 2 hours from
the Great Smokey Mountains and a little more than 2 hours from
South Carolina’s famous coastline.
Just 10 minutes away, you can find some of the finest
fresh water fishing in the country – “Lake
Murray”. This
lake boosts 500 miles of shoreline and over 50,000 acres of
fishing, boating and water-sports pleasure.

For those who enjoy golf, less than 10 miles
away you will find Mid-Carolina
Country Club. This
private club offers a superior course, swimming facilities and
restaurant. The
course is open to the public during the week and is available
with a member on weekends.
The Town of Prosperity is special because its
citizens and business owners have evolved into the 21st
Century gracefully without losing their intrinsic
characteristics which include mutual respect, friendliness, and
love for the community. Prosperity
offers the pleasures of a small-town life, just a few minutes
from Columbia and Lake Murray.
